Experience and Leadership
Throughout his 45 years at Conanicut Marine Services Inc, a Jamestown family-owned company, Richard was responsible for the management of up to twenty technicians in their yacht repair and maintenance division.
Using a common sense, problem solving, get it done approach, he helped the company grow into one of the largest employers on the island.
Community Engagement
As a proud resident of Jamestown for 60 years, growing up here as one of fourteen children, Richard has a deep-rooted connection to our island. Richard attended Jamestown School, North Kingstown High School, and graduated from URI. Many of his siblings still reside here, reinforcing their family’s strong ties to the community.
His wife, Ms. Michelle, is well known for her dedicated work for over twenty years at the Jamestown School, nurturing our youngest community members.
They have been happily married for over 45 years, and are blessed with two children and four grandchildren who are fortunate to also call Jamestown home.
Youth Development
Beyond his professional life, Richard was a volunteer coach for youth basketball, recreational and competitive soccer for fifteen years, fostering the development of our young athletes.
These experiences have reinforced his belief in the power of community and the critical importance of providing opportunities for our youth.
